Compliance with Bbl and NEN
The Bbl (formerly Bouwbesluit, the Dutch Building Decree) expects fire protection installations to be properly maintained. Identified non-conformity may lead to remarks or measures from the competent authority.
Conversations with your insurer
Insurers typically ask for an up-to-date inspection certificate and maintenance dossier. An expired or rejected certificate can complicate insurance discussions in case of damage.

01Is periodic fire alarm maintenance legally required in the Netherlands?
01 / 07Yes. The Bbl (formerly Bouwbesluit) requires that fire protection installations be properly maintained. NEN 2654-1 (BMI) and NEN 2654-2 (OAI) provide the practical implementation — monthly checks by the building manager and periodic maintenance by a specialist.
02When does my building need an inspection certificate?
02 / 07Inspection is mandatory for, among others, healthcare buildings, education, lodging (hotels) and larger office and industrial buildings. The Bbl and the CCV inspection scheme define this per situation. When in doubt, we deliver a gap analysis.
03Do you work as a subcontractor for other installation firms?
03 / 07Yes. We regularly subcontract for leading installation partners — typically for the BMI/OAI portion of a larger installation contract. Short lines, clear arrangements and a dedicated contact per project.
04Do you maintain existing installations from other brands?
04 / 07Yes. Our maintenance service is brand-agnostic: we work with the established European manufacturers and can take over maintenance of an existing installation, provided the dossier and programming are accessible.
05Does ANiX work across the entire Netherlands?

06What does a BMI maintenance contract cost?
06 / 07We do not work with fixed packages. Pricing depends on the type of installation, the number of detectors, the building use and the desired maintenance frequency. Based on a no-obligation intake we prepare a tailored proposal.
07Can you give a second opinion on a current quote?
07 / 07Absolutely. We assess quotes and PoRs from other parties on standards alignment (NEN 2535/2654), completeness and pricing reasonableness. This is done independently — we will never sell you something you do not need.
